The AWE Tuning FSI Downpipe features an integrated resonator to keep the exhaust sound volume civilized even with the elimination of the very restrictive factory converters. This downpipe is the first performance downpipe to be released that will not trigger a Check Engine Light on FSI 2.0T cars, even on factory software. The AWE Tuning FSI Downpipe is also available with a more durable Metal Catalytic Converter for increased longevity.
Additional sound level tuningFor the enthusiast interested in a more aggressive sound, we offer the AWE Tuning FSI Downpipe. The factory unit contains a fairly large resonator. By replacing this large piece with a more compact but still straight through resonator, AWE Tuning was able to increase sound volume while adding a slightly deeper tone. Testing showed small power increases in adding the downpipe with stock software, power is optimized with an AWE Tuning Performance Exhaust and Stage 2 Performance Software. The AWE Tuning FSI Downpipe will mate to our exhaust system or any other exhaust designed to work with the stock downpipe.
Precision WeldingAs with all AWE Tuning; exhaust products, each weld is hand finished internally, only butt-welded junctions are used, and flange openings are size matched to their ports, all to produce the smoothest flow possible.
